We inform you:

That from the day 01.03.2018, “YOU SHOULD CHARGE FOR" plastic bags in the Shops

that sell to the Public.

1 - Light Plastic Bags ..................... are those with a thickness lower than 50 microns.

     (T-shirt bags)

2 - Very Light Plastic Bags ............ are those with a thickness lower than 15 microns.

    (Thin Bags for Fruits and Vegetables / Hygiene)

3 - Oxi degradable Plastic Bags ... They are those that are transformed into micro-fragments.

4 - Compostable Plastic Bags ...... .. Are those made from biodegradable cereal starch.

MINIMUM PRICES TO COLLECT FOR BAGS.

Nº1 .................. equal to or greater than 30 microns to 10 cents of Euro / bag.

Nº1 ............... .. between 15 and 29 microns to 5 cents of Euro / bag.

Nº2 ............... .. less than 15 microns, for different uses to (Fruits, Vegetables for Hygiene) .......... Should not be charged.

Nº2 ............... less than 15 microns, for other uses at 5 cents of Euro / bag.

Nº3 ................. Equal to or greater than 50 microns to 30 cents of Euro / bag.

Nº4 ................ Will be charged at a lower price than those of the previous 3 groups. (*)

NOTES:

Manufacturers from now on must comply with a series of manufacturing standards:

a) They are prohibited from manufacturing a series of light oxi degradable bags with less than 50 microns.

b) They have to use a new system of markings to identify models.

c) They have to include information on how to recycle them.

The Government of the Canary Islands and the Ministry of Commerce, will implement new measures to regarding this RD Project.
